Universitatea Craiova's players lost their first game in this summer. F. Costea, Mitchell, Soava, Busu and Rose did not participate to this game and Julius Wobay was used as left side defender.

Mihai Dina scored in the 71 minute of the game but the refere said it was off side.

The scorers for our team were: Dina ('21, '24) and Baird ('52). The most valuable player of Universitatea Craiova, Florin Costea, the top scorer of last Romanian Championship was not used in this game.

Universitatea Craiova met in the second test game of this summer an amateur team from Austria. The score tells almost everything about this game. The scorers of our team were: Prepelita, Dina (2), M. Costea (3), Gogosoiu, Fl. Costea and Ologu.

In the first half, the team was: Lung - Dănănae, Stoica, Barbu, Şoavă - Prepeliţă, Dilevski, Nicolae, M. Costea - Dina, Gogoşoiu.

Universitatea - SV Wacker Burghausen 2-2

Universitatea Craiova played a friendly game against SV Wacker Burghausen. This is a team from 3rd German football league. The game was played in Austria, in Kaprun. This is the place where Craiova is preparing for the next season.

The goals of Universitatea Craiova were scored by Mihai Costea ('65) and Dina ('80).

The new trainer of our team is Daniel Mogosanu, a former player of Craiova in the years '90. He used the following team: Lung - Bărboianu, I. Popescu, Stoica, Rose - Firţulescu, Gogoşoiu, Ologu, Wobay - F. Costea, Badea in the second half, Craiova had the following players: Lung - Dănănae, Găman, Barbu, Şoavă - Firţulescu (Roman ‘70), Dilevski, Nicolae, M. Costea - Dina, Badea (Bran ‘65). Prepeliţă and Baird did not play because of some medical problems.

Universitatea Craiova - FC Vaslui 0-1

It was a very important game for our team. We needed only a draw to qualify for Europa League. Unfortunately, the team from Vaslui scored int he 12th minute of the game and Craiova produced a great disappointment for its fans. 20.000 people went home with this great defeat in their faces. Craiova finished this year on the 7th row in the table.The only success for this year is Florin Costea. He was declared as being the best scorer in Romania for 2008-2009 season.

Steaua Bucharest - Universitatea Craiova 2-1

Unfortunately Universitatea Craiova lost this game. But it is still on the 5th position in the table. Steaua scored first in the 18th minute of the game. Only 2 minutes after, Florin Costea scored a beautiful goal for a draw. In the second half Steaua scored again and Craiova lost a new game against a big rival.

After 3 matches without win, we succeded yesterday. It was 0-0 until the 75th minute of the game. It was really a boring game. It was a terible game. With a ful stadium and an impresive atmosphere. Craiova did not a very good game but we have 2 of our best players out for this match. In the 5ht minute of the game FC Brasov already had 1-0. Craiova ran after a goal almost all the rest of the game. We finally scored in the 88th minute thanks by Florin Costea. After this day we are still on the 5th place in the table.

It was really a sad game. Universitatea Craiova received a goal after a long period of time. We also had the possibility to make a draw because we had a penalty kick. Unfortunately, Dorel Stoica spent this good opportunity for nothing.

Superbowl XLIII

Yesterday we saw the most beautiul Superbowl game ever. 

Pittsburg Steelers won the 6th Superbowl in their history. They succeded this performance against Arizona Cardinals (27-23) and the MVP of the game was Sanantonio Holmes.

Ciprian Tanasa come back

Ciprian Tanasa came back to our beloved football team. He was one of the most important football players in last season. He played half season for Politehnica Iasi but now he came back home. We hope Tanasa will be again a very good striker of Universitatea Craiova. You may see him in the video below:

Universitatea Craiova get 2 new football players from Australia: Anthony Bryan Bran central defender and Filip Nechifor midfield player, both are 17 years old.
Anthony Bryan Bran born in Melbourne, on 02.03.1991, 1.97m height, comes from Victorian Institut of Sport from Melbourne.
Filip Nechifor, from Logan City, born in Timişoara, on 25.07.1991, 1,82m height.
Both of them have Romanian citizenship and they are represented by Dan Stănilescu. Universitatea Craiova has under contract another four football players coming from Australia: Josh Mitchell, Joshua Rose, Spase Dilevski and Michael Baird.
