A businessman from Dubai wants to donate a significant amount of money to Independent Supporters Association of FC Universitatea Craiova. This association will finance our team until the end of the championship. The information was made public by website www.stiridesport.ro
The white-blue team could receive "petrodollars" being just one step before bankruptcy. Our players are unpaid for seven months. Tomorrow, they will leave Craiova for Cisnădie. There is a possibility to play the rest of the games in this location until the new staium of Craiova will be built.
According www.fcuniversitatea.ro, the official Stiinta's website, on February 22nd Universitatea Craiova will play a friendly match against Rapid Bucharest. Every fan has to be present for this game.
Last year, Universitatea Craiova has won against Rapid Bucharest on their own field. It was almost the same script: a few games remained before ending the season, Craiova in a strong need for points. This time, the result was not the same. It was a draw who doesn't help any of these teams. During the game, Rapid's stadium had more problems with the lighting system. 3 times the lights went off. The problems where quickly solved and the game continued. About football, nothing else to say 0-0. Our team: 21.S.Lung - 18.Dananae, 4.Zoro, 5.Stoica, 3.D.Lopes - 7.Gugu, 88.J. Nicolae (89' 77.Surugiu), 30.Prepelita, 25.Firtulescu (69' 9.M.Costea) - 19.Stoianof (79' 28.Gangioveanu), 20.Subotic
Universitatea Craiova played last Friday against Rapid Bucharest.
Craiova calculated since start to attack and keep Rapid'a players away from the goal, while the team from Bucharest tried to surprise using fast and furious runs, with the balls thrown for the mobility of Herea behind the defenders line of Universitatea. In these circumstances, the midfielders had a lot of work to do.
In the first half Universitatea's game was based on the balls thrown in front by Iliev and Gaman trying to reach our strikers in good position. Thus, logically, the phases were hot consumed on the other gate, where Rapid quickly and easily arrived. First Cesinha, tried to score from the box, and after that, Spadacio executed a free-kick but Stanca saved in extremis
In the second half, Here was redcarded after an elbow kick against Gaman. In the next phase Barboianu was faulted at 17 m from Bornescu's goal and Wobay ('54) scored directly from this free kick. Craiova exulted. In the 62nd minute of the game, Dananae made a fault against Cassio in the box. M. Constantin scored from the granted penalty. And the game finished 1-1.
With Florin Costea on a hospital bed, Universitatea Craiova went last night in Bucharest looking for some points which are very useful for the end of this football season. With a new system Craiova, 4-4-2, and with Ologu, a 20 years old kid, as a substitute for Florin Costea, Mark Wotte placed Prepelita and Dilevski as central midfielders.
Rapid scored in the first phase of the game, but their goal was canceled for an offside. Craiova had a shot of Dina (16') and the younger brother of Florin Costea, Mihai, missed a simple retrieval alone with Bornescu (19'). Mircea Bornescu, former goal-keeper of Universitatea Craiova in the last 4 years, is playing now for Rapid Bucharest.
After the break, Wotte realized that Sapunaru from Rapid, ex-FC Porto, is not so scary and took himself the risk to get out a midfielder, Ologu, and put a striker on, Alex Piţurcă. Although the hosts took over the game and they were dangerous for Silviu Lung's goal. Herea ('46) and Răduţa twice ('49, '57) did not beat Lung in good situations.
The end was played sharply, Dina had a bar on Bornescu's goal('70). At the other goal, Herea monumental missed one shoot, all alone with Lung('77), then Răduţa two meters from the goal ('78). In the last seconds of the game, Gangioveanu ('90+2) did a great shot in cross and that was the only valid goal of this game.
Some players from Craiova get an yellow card in this game, and Prepelita, Lung and Dina will miss for the next match, against Timisoara.
Our team: Lung - Bărboianu, V. Găman, Iliev, Bălace - Prepeliţă, Dilevski, Ologu ('46 A. Piturca), Gângioveanu - Dina ('70 Trica), M. Costea ('81 Firtulescu)
This game was really crazy. Craiova started the match after 6 games with contradictory results. That meant our team was in need for a victory. There were only 3500 people in audience of this game and this was a negative record for Universitatea Craiova.
Until the 20th minute of the game, Rapid had 2-0 on the score board. Craiova ran after a draw and finally they did that. At the break time the score was 2-2. In the second half of the game the amazing score evolution continued. And the final result was Craiova - Rapid 3-4. After this game Daniel Mogosanu was dismissed. The new manager of Universitatea Craiova will be Eugen Neagoe.
A crazy match of Universitatea against Rapid Bucharest. The score speaks about what happened in the field.
Craiova used the following players: Bornescu - Dănănae, Găman, D. Stoica, Rose - Prepeliţă, Dilevski ('68 Barboianu), Şoavă - Wobay, Njock ('72 M.Costea), Fl. Costea
It was a beautiful game. The players from Craiova did a good fight with their opponents but the score finished wrong. Why? Because the referee canceled a regular goal scored by Michael Baird. Rapid scored first, but Universitatea get the draw thank to Florin Costea who scored for 1-1.
Universitatea Craiova played against Rapid Bucharest in Bucharest. This was something strange because Craiova should be the host team. In the last home game our fans made some troubles and our home stadium was suspended for 2 match days. This was the fist day of exil for Universitatea.
Our team had the following players: Bornescu-Dananae, Ciuca, Mitchell, Rose-Saceanu(Dina '90+1), Stoica ( cpt ) Velcovici-Wobay-Njock, Baird(Garla '70)
Universitatea Craiova did a good game and only a lack of fortune made this game to finish as a draw. The only bad happening was the bad attitude of Ionel Ganea from Rapid Bucharest who kicked in the face Michael Baird on the way to dressing room. This happened in the break time.
This is my football team. For those of you who are non British, I am talking about a soccer team.
Universitatea Craiova has a great history and is one of the most representative teams in Romanian football. Our team get 4 times the champion title and won 6 times the Romanian football cup.
I hope the story will not end here. Forza Stiinta!
